Corsendonk原是比利時Oud-Turnhout一座修道院的名號，1398年在蒂倫豪特夫人，布拉班特的瑪麗捐助下成立。並很快在1400年成立了修道院酒廠。直到1784年，才在致力於現代化的統治者，神聖羅馬帝國皇帝約瑟夫二世的要求下被迫關閉。修道院的產業更在其後的法國大革命風潮中被公家沒入、拍賣。使Corsendonk修道院之名沉寂了將近一世紀之久，一直要到1906年，才有釀酒師Antonius Keersmaekers設立酒廠，並宣稱根據Corsendonk修道院的釀造傳統釀製啤酒。
到了1982年，Oud-Turnhout建市125週年時，Antonius Keersmaekers的孫子Jef Keersmaekers在當地觀光局的邀請下，再度以Corsendonk品牌發行啤酒，但由於Keersmaekers家的酒廠已在1953年關閉，再度問世的Corsendonk啤酒，是以與其他酒廠簽約代釀的形式發行。目前Corsendonk的全系列啤酒，均是由Brasserie Du Bocq代為釀造。
1998年首度發行，以Pale, Munich和Caramunich三種不同烘焙程度的麥芽，搭配英國Kent Goldings啤酒花釀製的這款聖誕啤酒，原料上雖不見香料標示，風味與氣息上卻充滿香料感：瓶口香氣帶有柑橘、黑棗、甘草、麥芽與少許堅果氣息；入杯後香氣更為開展，帶出青草、丁香、荳蔻與橘皮氣息，佐以少許焦糖、堅果香。酒液成深棕色，酒帽相當豐盈，但持久力僅屬一般。入口先帶出焦糖、橘皮感，繼之以丁香、荳蔻、肉桂的複合香料氣息。雖是酒精度達8.1%的深色啤酒，酒體卻意外地相當乾爽，尾韻也短而乾淨，以焦糖氣息為主。
比利時聖誕啤酒的酒精度一般偏高，對於不習慣高酒精度啤酒的朋友來說，或許會覺得有些許壓力。Corsendonk Christmas Ale的香料氣息頗能代表比利時聖誕啤酒的特徵，容量也迷你，頗適合初學者一窺堂奧～
